Built Using Goodwin’s Sustainable Wild Black Cherry

Matt Radick of Gainesville, Florida based Orange Blossom Builds is in the process of constructing a unique and trendy television console using Goodwin’s Wild Black Cherry. Check it out:

Matt was familiar with the species as he previously crafted a magnificent fireplace mantle using the same beautiful wood. The console is highlighted by the cherry’s deep rich red coloring, stunning mineral streaking and a whimsical live edge top.  Matt also designed the doors to highlight their graining. They appear almost as drawers.

Wild Black Cherry is PRUNUS SEROTINA and is native to the southeast and to Florida.  It is not reclaimed, but also not endangered.  Goodwin sources our Wild Black Cherry from tree surgeons and land clearers who are developing a piece of property.  We would rather purchase the wood and turn it into beautiful flooring or lumber than see it sent to a landfill or burn pile.
