Goodwin partners with building design professionals throughout the country on both new construction and remodeled commercial spaces.  Antique heart pine and heart cypress are two of the industry’s preferred wood species because of their unique qualities, extraordinary beauty, and rich history.

You may recall a past article highlighting the use of Goodwin’s antique wood in the boardroom and lobby entrance of an esteemed financial institution in Chiefland, Florida.  The Drummond Bank project is now complete, and we have some gorgeous photos to share!

This incredible 56”x 21’ double slab River-Recovered® Heart Cypress conference table with live edges is the focal point of their new boardroom.

Antique Heart Pine and Heart Cypress

Goodwin partner, Dan Petersen of Heritage Wood Finish Company, designed and handcrafted the massive table from logs that were cut down well over a century ago. They rested on the bottom of the Florida panhandle’s Apalachicola River until they were recently recovered.

We then milled and manufactured this beautiful Vintage Precision Engineered floor for the lobby entryway at the new Drummond headquarters. The floor is 5-1/4″ on the face and finished with low sheen Diamond 7 by Heritage Wood Finish Company.

The General Contractor on the project was Gray Construction of Trenton, Florida.  The architect was Joe Hafner of Hafner/Ferlita Architects in Tampa.  The design was spearheaded by Mary Beth Courier of Studio Courier.
