Take a look at today’s gorgeous reclaimed wood acquisitions. Some are antique heart pine hand-hewn beams, while others are 1,000 year-old sinker cypress logs. It certainly was a two white truck and a two white dog day at Goodwin!

This old wood reminds me of the story told by a forester about a tree he called George after meeting my husband. The tree had survived for hundreds of years and thought life was over when it ran the sawmill rails. However, he overheard the sawyer talking about how the wood would be put to good use.

“A Tree Named George” was told five years ago – a minute amount of time compared to building a sawmill over 40 years and old wood growing for hundreds (and sometimes thousands) of years!
