(Part two of our Kimal Lumber blog)
Jeffrey and I were thrilled to help Kimal Lumber celebrate the 1st Anniversary of their Fruitville Road store opening. We were touched by the sincerity and generosity of Kimal owner Al Bavry. He presented the All Children’s Hospital and the Ronald McDonald House with a donation of $38,000! Ronald McDonald was even on hand to accept the check (And, yes, Jeffrey got his photo taken with him). Ronald McDonald House Charities provide warmth, housing and assistance to families with sick children. Thank you, Al, for your generous support of such a worthy cause!
The theme of Brownwood Village Square, the latest town square to be added to The Villages, is “Old World Florida” and it’s set in the 1800’s when Florida’s cattle hunters and cowboys roamed the state. Goodwin River Recovered® Heart Pine has been used extensively in this project, which adds a original authenticity to the construction, as the reclaimed wood is at least 200 years old itself. Take a look!
Goodwin’s heart isn’t just in our pine. As a Board Member on the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) Heart of Florida Chapter, Goodwin arranged for Green Halloween to join with Boo at the Zoo at Santa Fe College. Sustainable minded groups showcased their products (which included Goodwin’s antique reclaimed wood flooring) and services in one location for 4,500 kids of all ages.
